You can not be kind to others if you are not kind to yourself. Yes. Let's repeat that.
Kindness is one of the strongest weapons you can arm yourself with. In intense situations, when things feel heated, acts of kindness can seem like drops in an ocean, too small and too soft. But keep in mind that water can take down a village. And kindness will always win.
Without the softness of water, yin, feminine energy, we won't be able to lead with love and inspire others. So let's start with ourselves.
Start with (self) compassion. Now more than ever, we need acts of kindness and kind inner monologues as fuel to keep us going.
How to go back to a kind state:
Stay true.
Any intensified emotion can serve as a great catalyst, but to hold onto those; won’t get you where you want to go. Do what you need to do, but try and stay away from that fiery fight or flight mode. That’s not where it’s at, and it’s not who you truly are. Stay realistic, keep being honest with yourself. How do I feel, how does it feel, when I speak or act this way? Getting carried away and forcing yourself to keep doing things that are against your nature is not constructive. We want you to be your best self.
Organize.
To be of any service, inspire others or have any positive impact at all, you need clarity. A blurry vision does nothing but get in the way. Map out your strategies and get your mind right. Declutter your space. When you’re all over the place, but still trying to help, you might actually be more of a burden then a support system. Feel the difference between caring about something with a clear purpose and action plan, and being worried or stressed about something. Make sure to find ways to clear the mind like self care days, workouts or long walks in nature.
Keep the light on.
Don’t take yourself too seriously. You don’t have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders or finish all the work overnight.
Turn to your humour, make sure to laugh at yourself from time to time and just smile. Even when your mind is not entirely there yet (a fake smile gives you the benefits of the real thing). #science
& don't forget to smile at a stranger on the street or surprise your friends with their favorite chocolate. It can brighten up their day.
